- I actually don't understand what's confusing. I found the movie to be crystal clear and absolutely brilliant. The movie was a journey into her madness yes, but also I journey into what she was willing to give to become Princess Odette in Swan Lake.
The premise of Swan Lake, which is the ballet that Black Swan is referencing (I recommend seeing that ballet), is known to be one of the hardest performances for ANY ballerina. In it, a single ballerina has to dance two very distinct roles. The graceful, fluid role of the white swan and the sharp, dramatic role of the black. If you know anything about performance and dance, to "become a character" requires going inside and bringing something out from within you. For a dancer to be able to switch gears within a single performance is a testimony to their accomplishment and skill. The land this role is an honor of the highest for a ballerina.
Now, Black Swan. The ballerina, Portman's character, is suffering greatly, both mentally and emotionally. This is clear at the beginning due to her scratching herself. These are the marks. She is wound tight. Unable to let go (as evidient in the inability to orgasism). She has not been allowed to grow up. Her Mother is overbearing, depressed, and perfectionistic herself, and also mentally unstable....we see her weeping often. Portman's anger and resentment, much felt toward her Mother, she can not express to her Mother and it is turned inward toward herself (the scratching). Her "darkness" is repressed and has no outlet. She is a brilliant dancer, but only in the capacity that she is controlled and precise and "good". The white swan.
But to dance Swan Lake she be something else. The black swan. The black swan is the very essence that she has never been allowed to express, yet it lies dormant inside her, "scratching" to get out.
When she meets Lily, the "bad" girl, she sees in Lily BOTH what she is not but also what lies dormant inside her. The director of the ballet sets up the compitition between the two girls and this forces Nina (Portman) to become like Lily, put another way, forces Nina to bring out this dark side of her. She actaully befriend Lily to learn how to do this. In the movie, we see her envying her, watching her intently, she even goes out with her. Why? She is birthing this part of her. (as an aside, we are often attracted in life to those which we are not or those which we want to become. Look at your own life and see if this is true). Anway, we see the birthing. The rebellion against her Mother, the drugs, and free sex, the ability to orgasism (yaaay!).....etc. All the things that she has surpressed so tightly. All the things that her dysfunctional home has never allowed her to express. Because of her desire to land this role, a role she wants with everything that she is, she GIVES herself FULLY to letting this side come out. If you watch again, you will notice there is not really that much of a competition going on in reality between Nina and Lily. It's all in Nina's head. Lily could really care less, though she is certainly ready to fill in. What ballerian wouldn't be? But the drama of the compitition is a creation of Nina's to give her the push and the urgency she needs to propell the Black Swan to life and allow all the blocks and barriers to come tumbling down.
The problem was, it was too much too soon. It all came flooding out at once. Which is why she essentially "went crazy" (which is all relative anyway....but that's another discussion). The point is, and here is the key, THE ONLY WAY SHE COULD BECOME THE BLACK SWAN, THE ONLY WAY SHE COULD LET THE BLACK SWAN EXIST, WAS TO DESTROY THE WHITE SWAN. Being the white swan was so ingrained in her personality that the only way that she would let her own self be anything but the white swan was to destory the white swan. Destroy herself.
Therefore she saw herself fighing Lily when the only person she was fighting was herself. She experienced a break from reality......an episode psychologists like to call schizophrenic....in order to become the black swan. She fought to become the black swan, and she gave everything....And yes, she gave her life, to be both the white and the black in that performance, and dance Swan Lake.
Personally, I found to beautiful. I actually found it beautiful when she was able to let herself go and be free. She fully gave of herself, her sanity, her physical body, her relationship, everything, to dance that performance. I thought it showed heart, courage, and tremendous wil, and at the end, she said, "I was perfect". And she was. Yet it's bittersweet because she gave everything for it.

- The movies did not come out in chronological order…. 1, 2, 4, 5 THEN 3… that’s the order the movies should be watched in to make more sense. In fast and furious (4) Letty "Dies", hence Dominic went on vengeful rage, after that is fast five (5) and if you actually paid attention to the movie, towards the end Han and Gisele (was in the 4th movie) were sucking face in the car and she asks where they should go and Han says that he’s never been to Madrid. and then Gisele says "I thought you wanted to go to Tokyo?" and he said "We'll get there, eventually".... which means he HASNT GONE TO TOKYO YET...That alone should tell you that this takes place BEFORE Tokyo HENCE Tokyo drift(3) should be watched last so far. Letty doesn't "die" after the third movie she "died" before. If you have watched the 3rd, 4th and 5th movie and actually paid attention you would notice that Han dies in Tokyo, the 4th and 5th movies show him alive, that means the 4th and 5th are before the events in Tokyo drift. And Han definitely dies in Tokyo drift (3) no one could have gotten out of that alive, he was pinned in the car and it exploded. Letty on the other hand, we did not see her die, so her being alive was shocking, but is believable.
If you watch the movies in this order 1, 2,4,5,3 it will make more sense...
The 6th movie will probably also be before Tokyo Drift (3). It might even be before the 5th movie or maybe before and after fast five (5). The fact that they showed Letty alive means they are most likely going to explain why and how, and what the hell she’s doing. And since Han said “we’ll get there (to Tokyo) eventually” gives me the feeling that he’s going to be back, maybe even along with along with Gisele. Tego and Rico (the Mexicans) will probably be back too, at the end of fast five they were playing roulette at the casino and the two idiots both bet 10 million on black or red, and my guess is that the ball landed on green. so they probably are in need for more cash… and we all know that if Dom knows that Letty is alive. He going to be there, despite his new girlfriend… plus they are probably going to show what Dom was doing before he went to Tokyo too. It could just be me but feel like he knows something about Letty, after Mia and Brian got him out he disappeared for a while, where the hell would he go? So they will probably show where he was. I kind of get the feeling he knows she’s alive, because when Vince said “Where’s Letty?” to show Dom that he should trust his judgment, I thought Dom was going to smash his face in but he didn’t and I got this feeling that he knew exactly where she was, and I don’t mean dead... I’m not too sure that Mia and Brian will be back considering they have a baby coming. Maybe for a cameo cause I don’t think Brian would risk that.

- The 5th part is set before Tokyo because of the fact that Han is still alive, the chick that is with DOm could be one of 2 people it could be Gisele Harabo from Fast & Furious (she was a part of Braga's team until he tried to run her over) or she could be one of the chicks in Fast Five. You really dont give to much detail about what she looks like and I cant be bothered looking it up. But all in all this is set before Tokyo Drift.

- I called the schizophrenic thing within ten minutes of the movie starting. I'm still not sure her mother even was real. How the heck did she get the choice seats for the performance when she did not even want Nina there in the first place. Sorry.. Did not like this one bit.

- Guys you all need to stop and relise something every movie expect for Tokyo Drift was out of place...1,2,4,5,3 is the order not fucking 1,2,5,4,3 it so dumb i know hans said at the end that he was going to go to tokyo with his new girlfriend but that doesnt mean he hasnt been there already also in the 4 flim was Brian Child there i am pretty sure there wasnt? and dominic wouldnt have known han's new girlfriend if this took place before number 4 therefore how did he know her to bring her along the job in number 5 this was a continuation from number 4 cant belive what people are saying lol

- First of all, let's review something. Bella from Twilight isn't a heroine at all. Honestly, she is a terrible role model. i can't believe she married Edward or even considered him and Jacob. Lets review. Edward kept watching her sleep invading her privacy like a stalker. Edward took the engine from her car when she wanted to see Jacob so she couldn't go. Does that not scream controlling boyfriend? And Jacob, just because your strong, doesn't mean you have to make a girl kiss/keep kissing you especially if they already have a boyfriend, and didn't want to kiss you. Oh, and when Edward bit her all over her body one night when they were at thier honeymoon. She didn't get onto him once, and went straight to the makeup. What the heck was that? There was Team Edward and Team Jacob. I, for one, was on Team Mike.

- I really hope so, they left the last one wide open plus the dvd sales did amazing here in the U.S. They made a mistake not opening in theaters. I just hope they do a spin on it like introduce new hikers who happen to break through from a different cave esp since some caves can be connected they're like a branch. Maybe they can run into Sarah and save her just in time. : )
