7 Awesome Reasons to Watch Modern Family ...

After The Office practically perfected the mockumentary genre, I didn't know what to expect from Modern Family. However, the mockumentary style has become one of my top reasons to watch Modern Family. The clever editing of the show is what makes it so incredible. The "interviews" with the family and the character-revealing backstories work so well. It adds a lot to the show, and it definitely wouldn't be the same without it.

Usually, sitcom kids are very dry and predictable; not the ones from Modern Family. They're all so unique and hilarious in their own ways. There's the Dunphy clan that's made up of three children - Haley, Alex, and Luke. They get into trouble all the time and it's hilarious to watch them get out of it. Then there's Manny who's a sensitive romantic. He's got a little brother who I'm sure will grow up to be just like him. Then there's Lily, Cameron & Mitch's sassy daughter.

Ty Burrell plays Phil Dunphy, one of the greatest TV dads. He's definitely the stereotypical goofy and embarrassing dad, but you can't help but love him. He's oblivious to reality at times, making him one of the most comical characters on the show. His open and friendly demeanor show how endearing his character is. He's a good-natured man who loves his wife and kids. Trust me, if you watch the show, you've probably wished Phil was your dad.

The writers of this show are geniuses. Everything is sharp, witty, and hilarious. There's pretty much never a dull moment on the show, which is hard to do. The writers even take their own real life family experiences to create story lines for the show. I think they're doing a fantastic job.

If you're still not convinced why you should watch the show, watch it for Sofia Vergara. She's absolutely fantastic in it! Her character, Gloria, is a very proud and loving mother. The latina is hilarious (and sometimes insane) and a total pleasure to watch on the show. She's always yelling at her husband, Jay and with her accent, it is so funny to watch!

Like the show's title suggests, this show focuses on family. They're a huge family, and they all love and support each other. They sometimes have their ups and downs with each other, but it always works out in the end. The show really embodies what today's "modern" family really is about. That's what I think is so great about the show!

It's not just me who thinks you should watch this show! The first season brought in many awards like Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, among others. That was just the first season! Since then, it's been nominated for many different awards. If it keeps up what it's been doing, they'll be around for a long time.
