Halloween (1978)

Jamie Lee Curtis is truly an iconic and one of the best scream queens out there. This cult classic will have you shaking in your boots. When Michael Myers arrives in town to get what he wants. He will stop at nothing and will hurt anyone in his way. One day while walking with her friends Laurie Strode spots the killer and he seems to know her. But what’s the special connection between these two? This is one of the best Halloween movies everyone should watch.

2

Scream (1996)

One horror film of the 90’s has proven to be a classic in its own right! After her mother’s death Sidney Prescott soon realizes her life is about to turn upside down when a new killer comes to Woodsboro looking for her. Will she suffer the same fate as Maureen Prescott?

3

Freddy Vs. Jason (2003)

What better way to make a movie than to put to cult classic horror films together? Freddy and Jason have one thing in common and that’s the need to kill. But what happens when they get in each other’s way? This movie is a must watch because both characters get a taste of their own fears!

4

Jeepers Creepers (2001)

One word to describe this movie would be interesting. Brother and sister duo Darry and Trish are driving in a town that will soon be hard to escape. The killer known as the Creeper, who looks like human and bat mashed together, appears every 23 years and for 23 days feeds off his victims' fears.

5

Insidious (2010)

This movie is truly scary in every possible way. The two films that follow after it are no different. The first film is about a couple who’s oldest son Dalton goes into a coma. Soon after, weird things start happening and it seems as if there’s no hope for him. It’s up to his father save him, but that unfortunately comes with a price. After saving Dalton from a world between life and death, his brings something back with him. That story in seen in the sequel and this time it’s Dalton who will save his father. The second film scared me the most to be honest. The third one wasn’t too far off and it was a prequel of how this all started.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

Summer vacation is supposed to be fun, but instead it ends with someone’s death. But what happens when it comes back to haunt you in the form of Ben Willis the fisherman that was supposed to be dead? He will soon knock them off one by one in revenge.

7

The Ring (2002)

This movie still scares me after all of this time, so I know it will scare you too. The story line is very clever. After you watch a certain tape, you get a call and the voice says “seven days”. This means you have seven days until you die. When I was younger, I didn’t really look at the television the same again. Why you ask? Because the girl this story is based off of comes through the TV. If looks could kill doesn’t fully describe this movie.

8

The Covenant (2006)

This movie is more suspenseful than scary, but it's worth the watch. What happens when a fifth person tries to destroy “The Sons Of Ipswich?" Soon they will have to search centuries into the past to discover who this person really is and what his motives are.

9

The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

This remake is pretty much the same scenario as its original. A family vacation is such a happy time, unless another family decides to interrupt the festivities. Unknowingly the Carters mark their territory on this abandoned desert, not realizing a family of mutants already live there. Little do they know, this vacation will be anything but friendly.

10

The Amityville Horror (2005)

This movie is said to be based on a true story about a family who moves into a house with a dark secret. Also it’s a remake to the 1979 version. Being that it’s a true story, I’m terrified enough.

11

Black Christmas (2006)

Christmas is a joyous holiday, but with an escaped killer on the losse, things are going to get messy really fast. Killer Billy Lenz is going back to his childhood, now a sorority house, and he didn’t come alone.

12

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

In this remake a groups of friends travel and get stranded in Texas. They look to this creepy house for shelter and help, but realize the family it belongs to is full of crazy killers. When I first saw the trailer to this movie, it was said to be based on a true story. Whether this is really true, I don’t know. But I can tell you it scared the crap out of me.

13

Lights out (2016)

What happens when you’re forced to go back to your childhood home? On top of that, you may be the only one who can save your brother. Well that’s exactly what Rebecca has to do. Through it all she’s faced with her own childhood fears and the ones from her mother that’s affecting all three of their lives.

14

Darkness Falls (2003)

As a kid when you lose a tooth, it’s supposes to be exciting, but when the “Tooth Fairy” tries to attack you it’s not fun anymore. When Kyle loses his last baby tooth, his worst nightmare comes to life and what he thought about the tooth fairy wasn’t just a myth. When she kills his mother, it continues to haunt his adulthood. Little does Kyle know, he’ll have to help his childhood friend protect her brother from the same nightmare.

Even if you don’t watch all of these movies, at least try a few of them. You won’t regret it and your scare level will be at a all time high! It really wouldn’t be Halloween if you’re not freaked out, right?
