Home Alone

Do Christmas movies get any funnier than this one? “Home Alone” is a Christmas movie your kids are sure to love. Kevin is a main character that your kids will relate to. It’s full of slapstick comedy and fun. And no matter how many times you’ve seen it, you can still laugh. Add this one to your list of Christmas movies to watch with your children.

2

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

I don’t think it feels like Christmas if I don’t get to see “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer.” This lovely 1964 classic is one that has charmed all ages for decades. It’s a story that even your youngest children can enjoy. You can’t help but feel badly for Rudolph as he tries to find his place among Santa’s reindeer. Watching him become the hero never gets old.

3

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

There are several variations of this classic but my favorite is the one in which Jim Carrey stars. He makes the movie even more spectacular. This fantasy tale has a good storyline that will captivate your children. It’s magical and lovely to watch. Despite your best efforts not to, you’ll have a soft spot for the Grinch.

4

Frosty the Snowman

This is a short cartoon that can hold even the attention of small children. It’s only 25 minutes long which is the perfect length for a toddler. In this movie, Frosty comes into town with the help of some magic and makes many new friends. He even makes a very special friend in Karen who helps him with his magic hat. This mini movie will delight both you and your children.

5

Elf

Elf is a movie that is geared towards older children. It’s very funny and appeals to school age children upwards. Elf is about an elf that discovers where he came from and it isn’t the North Pole. He returns to New York City to meet his biological father and try to find a place for himself in the world. Things don’t go as well as he’d hoped and there ends up being all sorts of misadventures for Buddy the Elf.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

I have to admit, this is a personal favorite and one that my children love as well. It’s a classic that’s worth watching every year. It’s the story of Clark Griswold desperately trying to give his family the perfect Christmas. Unfortunately, he didn’t count on a difficult boss, family members showing up uninvited and other mishaps along the way. It’s one that will give you and your children lots of laughs.

A Christmas Story

This one’s for all the little boys out there and the little girls that like it, too. It’s the story of young Ralphie who’s nine and desperately wants a bb gun for Christmas. He’s dreaming of a special Red Ryder model and wants it more than anything. Unfortunately, his mom is concerned with safety issues and it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. This movie is set in the early 40s which makes it interesting for those of us that love that era.

These are 7 Christmas movies you can enjoy watching with your children. What’re your favorite Christmas movies to watch with your kids? I’d love to hear which ones make your list.

Every year we watch "Mr. Krueger's Christmas" and "It's A Wonderful Life". Even the little ones love Jimmy Stewart.

I love all of these
