So in no particular order, here's seven of our all-time-favorite Christmas movies that will warm your heart:

A Christmas Carol

No one “does Christmas” better than Ebenezer Scrooge and be it straight drama (1935) or comedy with Bill Murray in Scrooged (1970), there is nothing better than watching the old guy get his comeuppance and find the true meaning of Christmas in the smile of Tiny Tim. This SHOULD definitely be on top of your list of classic Christmas movies to watch this season!

2

The Nightmare before Christmas

Stop motion animation has never looked so good as when Tim Burton skillfully blends the horror of Halloween with the mirth and love of Christmas. Jack, the King of Halloween stumbles into Christmas Town and mayhem ensues. Some great musical numbers add to the charm of this new “classic”. Parents, watch this with your children - or children, watch this with your parents.

3

It’s a Wonderful Life

Ever think your life isn’t worth that much? Go look at George Bailey who never leaves Bedford Falls and decides to throw away his life on Christmas Eve, only to find that angels get their wings whenever a bell chimes. A heartwarming tale of the importance of Christmas and the positive impact each and every one of us can make every day.George Bailey truly was the richest man in Bedford Falls as everything is just wonderful in this film.

4

White Christmas

Bing Crosby sings the timeless title song that captured the hearts of every G.I. during WW II and... alongside Danny Kaye sings up a storm. Heartwarming and thoroughly wonderful, Crosby is at his best when he just stands there and sings. This one is a musical, one that shows the newcomers how Christmas musicals are rightfully done!

5

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Now a staple for children of all ages, Rudolph is another stop-motion animation movie with great songs, “You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen” from Johnny Marks. My favorite is Burl Ives as a snowman singing “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas”. Nothing beats classic Christmas movies that emphasize the importance of a great storyline.

Miracle on 34th Street

Santa Claus isn't real; he’s just hiding out in a department store in New York City in this 1947 classic with Edmund Gwenn as the famed man in red. Young Natalie Wood plays the child with an unshakeable belief that Santa is real and so will you too as the city and state of New York validates what we have already know. Santa Rocks! There is a 1994 remake of this classic that is also a heartwarming alternative. Be ready to answer the question: Do you believe in Santa Claus?

7

Frosty the Snowman

This family animated classic first aired December 7, 1969 and became universally loved by children around the world. A discarded magical top hat falls onto a snowman that a neighborhood group of children made and – presto changeo – it's Frosty the Snowman.
