Amazing Fictional Sisters We All Wish We Had ...

Ginny Weasley is probably one of the most famous fictional sisters of the last 15 years. She has all of the qualities that you would want in a sister: she’s compassionate; fiercely loyal; and when the time comes, she can pick up a fight and battle it out like the best of them! The way she dueled with Bellatrix Lestrange in Deathly Hallows proves that she is a sister that would most definitely have your back.

Played by Sandra Bullock, Sally Owens is both best friend and savior to her onscreen sister played by Nicole Kidman. Not only does Sally have to contend with a family curse that means every man she loves will die, but she also helps her troublemaking sister get out of a really tough spot when her tumultuous relationship goes south! Intensely loyal and a great witch to boot, Sally would be a great sister to have.

As soon as Tia and Tamera found each other in the first episode of classic 90s show Sister Sister, they became almost inseparable and helped each other through a lot of different situations during the show’s run. They really loved each other, and although they sometimes had fights (mostly over boys!) they always made up in time for some more high jinks. Also, how cool would it be to have a twin sister to share everything with?

The whole sister unit in Little Women is a great one, but Beth is definitely the glue that holds the entire family together. Even on her deathbed, Beth always put family and her sisters first, with her dying wish being that her beloved siblings had not grown up and left the nest. Beth is the embodiment of the loving sister that we all wish had at some time or another in our lives.

Though she is the youngest character in the film, Joseph Gorden-Levitt's little sister, played by Chloe Grace Moretz, is the one person in the entire story that gives him any really good advice about his rollercoaster relationship with Zooey Deschanel. She keeps it real and gives him some great advice, which is something that we could all do with every now and then.

You will be hard pushed to find an on screen sister that is a smarter than Lisa Simpson, and although she has to put up with some real hassle from brother Bart sometimes – ok, a lot - she is always there to give good advice and get the family out of a tight spot. With parents as crazy and Homer and Marge, it would be good to have an ally like Lisa at your side!

Who wouldn’t want a sister as loving and protective as Katniss Everdeen? She loves her little sister so much that she volunteered to enter the Hunger Games in her place, and if that isn’t sisterly love then I don’t know what is! Not only is she willing to give her own life for her sister, but she is totally badass and could fight off any unwanted attention that you get whilst growing up!
