7 Movies to Get You in the Back to School Mood ...

When summer is coming to an end, many of us need some movies to get us in the back to school mood. Summer is always a great time, but after watching these movies, you will be more than excited to get back in classes and see all of your friends. Some of these movies are funny and some might leave you crying, but they all have something in common; they teach you wonderful lessons and will leave you packing your backpack full of that back to school mood.

Mona Lisa Smile

Any story about a group of college women coming into their own will definitely get you in the back to school mood. Set at Wellesley in the 1950s, Julia Roberts plays an art history teacher who tries to inspire her students to dream for themselves. Through her classes, she teaches them that there is more to life than just getting married. If this movie does not inspire you to reach for the stars and proves the importance of a great education, I don’t know what will. Not to mention it has an incredible cast that includes Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, and Maggie Gyllenhall.

Clueless

On iTunes at itunes.apple.com

On the opposite spectrum of Mona Lisa Smile, Clueless is a comedy classic. Everyone recognizes Alicia Silverstone as the spoiled Cher who spends her days making over her friends and trying to find love. Not only are the outfits in this movie completely adorable and 90s-esque, it will get you so pumped to go back to school and see all of your best friends. You might even be inspired to do your own makeover before the start of a new year.

3

Dead Poets Society

**On iTunes at **itunes.apple.com

In my opinion, there is nothing as cute as a group of prep school boys. Dead Poets Society is about a teacher at an elite prep school, played by Robin Williams, who inspires his boys through his use of poetry in the classroom. It will give you such an appreciation for the power of literature and inspire you to seize the day.

10 Things I Hate about You

Loosely based on Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew”, this might be one of my favorite movies of all time. What is so great about this movie is the message that it is okay to not fit in. Just because something is popular, doesn’t mean it’s right. And I always wanted a high school campus that was as beautiful as Padua High.

5

Mean Girls

**On iTunes at **itunes.apple.com

If there is one movie that defined our generation, it is Mean Girls. No movie better portrays how hard it can be to navigate high school where there are mean girls involved. But it also shows how important it is so be true to yourself and find friends who love you no matter what. Not to mention it might be the most quotable movie ever.

The Breakfast Club

**On iTunes at **itunes.apple.com

If Mean Girls is the movie of our generation, then The Breakfast Club is the movie that defined the 80s. In school, there can be all kind of cliques and stereotypes about students. The Breakfast Club took those stereotypes and threw them out the window. If this movie will do one thing, it will teach you to look past the clichés and get to know someone for who they are. And it will get you super excited to get back to school and meet a ton of new and interesting people.

Any of the Harry Potter Movies

On iTunes at itunes.apple.com

If there were any movies that put me in the back to the school mode, it would be the Harry Potter series. Sure my college is no Hogwarts, but seeing how much fun the characters have, I am excited to get back to my own school and start having my own adventures. I also kind of aspire to be Hermione and watching her in action gets me pumped to hit the books and start acing my classes.

Going back to school can be a weird experience and so many people dread the end of summer. With these movies, you will be more than excited to get in the back to school mode and start hitting the books. What did you think of these back to school mood movies? What others movies put you in the back to school mood? Why do you think these movies put you in such a mood to get back to school?
