15 Movies to Look Forward to in 2015 ...

By Vanessa

There are SO many movies to look forward to this year! It's honestly so cool to see such talented people be apart of such awesome projects. Whether they're bringing you the sequel to your favorite film, a reboot of an old one, or introducing you to something brand new, these are some of the movies to look forward to this year:

1 The Divergent Series: Insurgent

If you were a major fan of Divergent, get ready for the next chapter. The second installment in the franchise is set to release this March! Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Miles Teller, and Ansel Elgort are all back and things are about to get a whole lot crazier. Have you already read the Divergent series?

2 Pitch Perfect 2

I could not be any more excited about the Pitch Perfect sequel. Honestly, I've been counting down the days until May! Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, and Anna Camp are back and better than ever. In the film, the Barden Bellas are kicking it up a notch by entering an international a cappella competition. New music and more of Anna Kendrick/Skylar Astin's on-screen romance is all I ask for! This movie is going to be aca-mazing!

3 Pan

Who was Peter Pan before he was, well, Peter Pan? You can find out in this upcoming Peter Pan prequel! It stars Hugh Jackman, Levi Miller, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, and Amanda Seyfried. Look out for the release on July 17!

4 Magic Mike XXL

Girls, who else is excited for the Magic Mike sequel?! It'll release on July 1, which is the perfect way to kick off summer! The sequel stars Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, and Michael Strahan. The boys are ready to follow Mike's pursuit of another life but, of course, they need one last hurrah. Some awesome cameos will be made by Amber Heard, Jada Pinkett Smith, Andie MacDowell, and Elizabeth Banks!

5 Cinderella

I absolutely love live-action films of fairytales! Cinderella, which stars Lily James, Helena Bonham Carter, and Cate Blanchett is set to release on March 13! It's directly inspired by Disney’s 1950 animated classic, but also has the expected feminist twist. “We built the film around the idea that even though Cinderella would be delighted to find love, her life would not and could not be defined by whether she finds a man,” director Kenneth Branagh told Yahoo Movies. “She likes herself, and she has no sense of self-pity or being any kind of victim.”

6 Terminator Genisys

He's back! Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, and Jason Clarke will be hitting the screens in a theater near you on July 1. The movie's got a really interesting concept - it's going to be showing events from both 1984 and 2029, allowing us to see Sarah Connor (Game of Throne’s Clarke) and Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) as young adults. With Arnold back in the franchise, expect the unexpected.

7 Furious 7

This movie will be very bittersweet to watch as the movie marks the final on-screen appearance of Paul Walker. It's set to release April 3 and will definitely break box office records. If you've been a fan of the franchise, you know that the films are just as much about family as they are about cars. Therefore, we can all expect a proper send-off for Walker.

8 Fifty Shades of Grey

Anyone else counting down the days for Fifty Shades of Grey! The movie will be released on Valentines Day and will undoubtedly be one of the most buzzed-about films this year. With Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan as its leads, the movie has already built a very loyal fan base. If you haven't read the books, please do yourself a favor and read it before you see the film!

9 Jurassic World

Jurassic World is already one of the most-talked about films and it doesn't even hit theaters until June! The movie stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, and Vincent D’Onofrio. In case you didn't know, the movie is set two decades after the events of the original film. It takes places in the titular theme park where it's been operating smoothly for years... until now.

10 The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

Must I even explain why this is one of the most highly-anticipated film releases of 2015? With The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, the saga comes to an end. It's the fourth and final installment and as excited as I am for it, I'm not ready for it to end! Even though most of us know what happens (from reading the books), it's still so exciting to watch it all on the big screen. The movie is set to release on Nov. 20 so mark your calendars!

11 Avengers: Age of Ultron

Marvel fans, get excited! Avengers: Age of Ultron has a release date of May 1 and stars your favorite heroes. This includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson! Joss Whedon has re-assembled the all-star cast for this new project and included some new faces like Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver! Ultron (Spader), is a near-omnipotent android sprung from Stark’s lab, set on eradicating the human race. Who will win?

12 Star Wars: the Force Awakens

Are you excited for the new Star Wars film? If so, you are one among many! The movie stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Domnhall Gleeson, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Andy Serkis and will be released on December 18! Ever since J.J. Abrams released a teaser trailer for the film, the buzz around the film hasn't stopped. It's going to be a thrilling ride!

13 The Jungle Book

This movie has got me wishing it was already October! It stars A-list celebrities like Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Lupita Nyong'o, Idris Elba, and Neel Sethi. Not much has been revealed about Neel, the young boy who plays Mowgli but we can expect that he'll bring the movie to life!

14 Mission: Impossible 5

You would think that people are tired of watching Mission Impossible but nope, you'd be wrong. I, for one, can't get enough of it! With a release date of Dec. 25, Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames are going to be dominating the big screens. Not much is known about the plot line, other than Cruise's Ethan Hunt will be leading the A-list spy team but what else is new? With the franchise's impressive track record, I have no doubt this movie will be success.

15 Fantastic Four

I am SO excited for a remake of Fantastic Four. Although there isn't a release date just yet, the all-star cast makes the movie a must-watch. The cast includes the likes of Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell. The director, Josh Trank, has already proven that he's not afraid to shake things up in the reboot. I think this movie is going to be, well, fantastic!

Well, there you have it! These are just 15 movies to get excited about for this new year. Of course, there are SO many other releases! Which movie are YOU most excited about? Share the title in the comments!
