OMG Making a Murderer is Coming to Netflix and Here's Why You Need to Watch It ...

By Lyndsie

How many of you got obsessed with Making a Murderer last year? 🙋 Well, guess what? MAKING A MURDER IS OFFICIALLY COMING BACK TO NETFLIX! The twisted tale of Steven Avery, Brendan Dassey, and Teresa Halbach will continue in a second season, although it's hard to imagine just what might come to light. Viewers are, of course, over the moon, especially after all the speculation surrounding the announcement of a second season for the serious earlier this year. Since we finally know that it will, indeed, feature Steven Avery, we're gearing up for our next big binge watch. There are precious few details 🤐 regarding just what the second season will entail (or reveal), but that doesn't quell our excitement. We don't think you'll need any convincing to tune into the new season, but if you do, here are all the reasons you'll ever need.

We Get to Meet Steven Avery's New Defense Lawyer

Her name is Kathleen Zellner and we've already been hearing a lot about here. We're dying to meet her on screen. Why? Well, it's like this. As mentioned, we know very little about what the new episodes will reveal – beyond the news stories that have popped up between the season one premiere and today. Kathleen Zellner, however, has stated in interviews that she's convinced that the new information will be more than enough to prove Steven's innocence. Exciting, right? Still, I think we'll all miss Dean Strange.

2

We Get a Look at Brendan Dassey's Team, Too

I'm actually extremely excited about this. The second season of Making a Murderer will focus more not just on Brendan Dassey himself, but also on his legal team. His lead lawyers are Laura Nirider and Steve Drizin, and I honestly cannot wait to see how more of Brendan's story plays out.

3

Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos Aren't Finished Yet 🎥

Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are, of course, the filmmakers responsible for Making a Murderer. Obviously, they aren't done – that's why there's a second season. What I mean is, the reason there's a second season is because they both knew how much more of the story still needed to be told. This story needs to be told.

4

But Some People Wish They Were 😤

Specifically, people in Manitowoc County wish these women were done, gone, and quiet. At a February panel about the show, it was revealed that many residents are angry at Demos and Ricciardi for a variety of reasons, ranging from a dislike of the Avery family and a belief in Steven's guilt to anger at the way the docuseries portrayed the people of Wisconsin.

5

We'll Get to See How Steven's Handling the Aftermath

Steven Avery has a lot of supporters – a LOT. In the first season, our first glimpses of Steven reveal a relieved, smiling man surrounded by friends and family, cradling a baby he doesn't know but is happy to hold. It's not too much to assume that in the second season, we might get to see just how Steven is coping with the fame resulting from the show.

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

The Story is Constantly Unfolding

You never know what's going to happen next. What's the next big reveal? The next big confession? What kind of corruption is going to pop up next? This story is like intricately shaped origami. It seems to get more and more complicated as it unfolds.

It May Change Your Views on the Criminal Justice System in America

Season one certainly gave viewers a lot to think about. Season two is pretty much guaranteed to do the same. I don't think that's a bad thing. I think more people need to question our criminal justice system. I think there needs to be more illumination.

8

You'll Want to See What Happens Next

We don't even know what it is yet. We have no idea what happens. Does that even matter? Absolutely not because whatever it is, the whole situation is a tragedy. Every inch of it.

9

The First Episode Will Hook You, Just like the First Season

You'll be gone from the first five minutes. I don't think there's any possible way the second season will disappoint.

There's no release date yet, unfortunately, so that's the next piece of news to look forward to. Will you be watching the second season of Making a Murderer?
