How to Train Your Dragon 2 (June 13th)

Fans of the original film will love this sequel which follows Hiccup and Toothless on even more adventures! Look out for a cameo from 'Game of Thrones' star Kit Harington as Eret the Dragon Trapper. When it comes to summer movies of 2014, this is one you definitely must see!

2

Godzilla (May 16th)

This is one movie I can't wait to see! The modern-day Godzilla is set in San Francisco and the A-list cast is just one reason to check it out.

3

Jupiter Ascending (July 18th)

The Wachowskis are the duo that brought us The Matrix, so I'm really quite excited about their latest sci-fi thriller! Starring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum, Sean Bean, one of my favorite actors, also makes an appearance.

4

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (August 8th)

Ok, so it might be a little cheesy, and fans of the original 80's and 90's cartoons may be in two minds about whether to go and see it, but I for one am waiting with bated breath for the heroes in a half shell to arrive on the big screen this summer! I loved the original cartoons, so I'm excited to see the latest take on TMNT.

5

X Men: Days of Future past (May 23rd)

Featuring the original trilogy's cast and a thrilling time-travelling plot, Director Bryan Singer (the man behind X-Men and X2) is at the helm of this latest film, and there are rumors circulating that this could be the best X Men movie yet! This is one film I'm really excited about seeing this summer.

The Purge 2 (June 20th)

Whilst the original Purge film didn't seem to have that many fans here in the UK, I really enjoyed the creepy vibe and it made me question our society - could something like that really happen? I'm quite excited for the second instalment and will definitely be heading to the cinema to check this one out at the end of June.

7

Maleficent (May 30th)

Disney's Maleficent is set to be the family film of the spring/summer and I'm looking forward to seeing Angelina Jolie as Sleeping Beauty's evil yet beautiful villain - I think she's perfectly cast. Whilst it's a dark fantasy horror that's not really suitable for younger children, older kids are sure to love it, and Sleeping Beauty has always been one of my favorite stories!

Which films are you waiting for this year - are there any I've missed that you just can't wait to be released? I'd love to hear what you're looking forward to. From horror films to animated family flicks and blockbuster hits, the summer of 2014 is set to be a great season for movies and I for one will be spending a lot of time at the cinema checking them all out!

p.s.Release dates may differ as these are predicted UK release dates
