7. Kate and Leopold

Movies that incorporate humor into a romantic situation or vice versus are always fun. This movie also stars Hugh Jackman and who doesn’t enjoy seeing him! I know I’m always up for a movie starring this particular Hugh.

6. Sex in the City: the Movie

Even if you haven’t kept up with the multiple seasons of Sex in the City, this is still an excellent movie. There’s always someone in the crowd who identifies with one of the characters or who knows a friend who has a similar personality to one of the ladies in this movie. I like the way the characters are very matter-of-fact about sex and romance. They have conversations that are very real and depict live in the city that I find refreshing.

5. The Holiday

I watched this movie on a whim one evening and ended up buying it the following day. It’s such a great movie, especially when watched with a bunch of the gals. I thought I might not like it at first, since it bounces between two different situations, but they are connected enough to make this an enjoyable flick.

4. When in Rome

There are so many great people in this movie that it appeals to just about every woman I know. It’s such a fun movie too. It does, however, make me very glad that pinching a few coins out of a fountain can’t really cause the owners of those coins to fall in love with you. How odd would that be!

3. How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days

Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson are so cute in this movie! The ending is a given, I think, but this is still such a fantastic movie. I never get tired of watching it. The combination of McConaughey’s good looks and smooth voice goes well with Hudson’s quirkiness and out-going attitude. These two definitely make this flick a keeper in my collection.

2. The Devil Wears Prada

Anne Hathaway is excellent in this flick and I love movies about the fashion industry, but only when they include a bit of humor as well. Meryl Streep has always been one of my favorite actresses and she is marvelous in this movie as well!

1. 27 Dresses

There was something oddly intriguing about the description of this movie that made me rent it in the first place. I was so glad that I did! I watched it the very first time with a couple of my friends during a girls’ night in and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend this as a first choice in movies for a night with your girl friends.
