Lifetime's Whitney Houston Biopic Gets an Emotional First Trailer ...

Vanessa Dec 9, 2014

Lifetime's been working on the legendary late singer's biopic and just released the first trailer for it! I'll let you decide for yourself but, if you ask me, it's great. In the short clip, we see Houston (played by Yaya DaCosta) rise to the top of the charts, deal with her rocky relationship with Bobby Brown (played by Arlen Escarpeta), and we even get a glimpse of Grammy nominee Deborah Cox's vocals in an amazing "I Will Always Love You" performance:

Angela Bassett, the movie's director, told E! News that she hopes viewers will take away a lesson in love. "They say all we have is of ourselves and our capacity to love, to love ourselves, to love one another and to just spread more love and joy in this world" Bassett said. The movie premières on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. Will you be tuning in?
