9 Movies with Awesome Soundtracks You Can't Stop Listening to ...

One of the best discoveries you can make is movies with awesome soundtracks. If you’re anything like me, you focus more on a movie’s soundtrack rather than the actual movie itself! I think it’s such an important aspect to a movie because it’s really what provokes you to feel so many different emotions. Music lets you know whether you should be feeling happy, sad, etc. during a movie! The list of movies with awesome soundtracks goes on and on but this one is just limited to 9. Enjoy!

1. Pitch Perfect

This movie tops the list of movies with awesome soundtracks. Why? Because there’s no way you can listen to it and not sing along. I’m a huge Pitch Perfect fan and I think the songs in the movie were fantastic. I mean, Skylar Astin? I play the Treblemakers' finals song nearly nonstop. Not to mention that Anna Kendrick’s “Cup Song” from the movie even made it to Pop radio! Impressive, huh?

2. Dear John

Dear John definitely has one of my favorite soundtracks, ever. Amanda Seyfried shows off some amazing vocals in “Big House” which can be heard in a movie scene and in the end credits. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend you go and watch this movie, While you’re watching, just focus on the music in the background; every song fits perfectly with whatever scene it’s in. It’ll make you download music from artists like Joshua Radin, Rosi Golan, Fink, etc. It’s a repeat-worthy soundtrack.

Frequently asked questions

3. Les Mis

The latest adaptation of Les Mis had some of the biggest names in its cast. What I love the most about the soundtrack is that the cast themselves are the ones singing. My favorite voices are those of Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, and Eddie Redmayne. They all sound spectacular. The soundtrack really is the story of the movie (it’s a musical) and it was crucial to get it just right.

4. Burlesque

This movie might be one of my favorites, ever. Christina Aguilera and Cher give flawless performances. It’s about a small-town girl with big Hollywood dreams; she ends up working at a Burlesque bar and slowly but surely, gets the attention she deserves. The soundtrack to this movie is very upbeat and makes you want to get up and dance just like Xtina. There’s even some ballads like “Bound To You” that make you want to close your eyes, and belt out your soul. Oh, and Cam Gigandet is in it (swoon)!

5. Country Strong

When this soundtrack came out, I had a tough time remembering that any other songs existed. This movie really made me into a country fan. I love how the songs all tell stories and are so easy to relate to. Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (all hail Queen B) is phenomenal in this movie and shows off some very impressive vocals. Same goes for Gwyenth Paltrow and Garrett Hedlund. These actors all showed they can be successful musicians and I still catch myself listening to the soundtrack! Country angels are what they sound like (no really, you’ll make the same comparison once you hear them).

6. Grease

There’s no way this movie couldn’t be on the list. This is by far one of the best musicals and leaves you singing their songs for days. It’s hard to have a favorite song from Grease but I’m gonna have to go with “You’re The One That I Want”. It’s become such an iconic song and such an iconic soundtrack! If you’ve never seen this movie, what are you doing with your life? Go watch.

7. Spring Breakers

I know, I know, Spring Breakers was weird (I don’t know how else to describe it). The movie was all over the place and was definitely trippy. Kudos to the director though, because that’s exactly what he was going for. The music, however, was really good! It kept you on your toes. My favorite was “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites” by Skrillex!

8. Rock of Ages

This is another musical with a great soundtrack! They’re all feel-good songs and make you want to get up and dance. Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta were the leads in the movie and had such great chemistry together. My favorite scene was, of course, “Don’t Stop Believin”! If you feel like jamming out, definitely watch this movie.

9. The Great Gatsby

I was totally obsessed with Gatsby when it came out! Leonardo DiCaprio gave a flawless performance and the soundtrack to the movie was fantastic. My absolute favorite is Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful”. I think it’s so perfect for the movie and its plot. Other songs from Florence & the Machine, Beyonce, and Fergie really helped shape the movie too. Take a listen and watch the movie if you haven’t already!

That sums up the list of movies with awesome soundtracks. There are always new movies and always new soundtracks so this type of list would need to be updated constantly! However, these 9 are all repeat-worthy soundtracks. Which movies do you think should make the next list?
