1. The Grand Budapest Hotel

That's right, The Grand Budapest Hotel is the film with the most nominations! Once all categories were counted, the film had racked up 11 nominations. Impressive, right? One of the nominations went to Ralph Fiennes for best actor! "I'm delighted of course," said Fiennes. Who wouldn't be?!

2. The Theory of Everything

The Theory of Everything was, well, everything. It was shortlisted in the four main categories including best film. That should already tell you something! The movie's lead, Eddie Redmayne, who plays Stephen Hawking in the film, was very humbled by the recognition. "James Marsh, our director, got such an amazing group of people. It was a passion project for everyone so the fact it has been nominated for so many things is a testament to him." Felicity Jones, Redmayne's leading lady, added: "I feel very lucky to be in such remarkable company. I've watched those performances and I feel like they're very exciting for women in film because they are all revolutionary performances."

3. Birdman

Birman actually tied with Theory of Everything for most nominations. They each got 10 apiece! It was really an incredible movie that I suggest you watch if you haven't already. Some of the nominated categories include Best Film, Best Supporting Actress (for Emma Stone), and Best Supporting Actor (for Edward Norton.) Clearly, it's a must-watch!

4. The Imitation Game

Benedict Cumberbatch is absolutely mesmerizing in The Imitation Game. The film received nine nominations, including a best actor nod for Cumberbatch's portrayal of Turing. Keira Knightley, who was equally as magnificent, received a nomination for best supporting actress.

5. Boyhood

Boyhood is the movie everyone's talking about! It's already won three Golden Globe awards and award season has just begun. In 2002, Richard Linklater created a story about a six year old boy and his family and continued to film them for the next 12 years, making cinematic history! It was nominated for Best Film, Best Screenplay, and earned Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette a nod for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.

6. Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler is definitely one of those movies that really make you think about the people around you. I mean, the movie was so creepy! But at the same time, ridiculously good. Jake Gyllenhaal is known for giving his all for his movie roles and it really shows. Nightcrawler earned him a Best Actor nomination, and a nod for Best Screenplay and Best Editing. Have you seen the film? What were your thoughts?

7. Foxcatcher

Foxcatcher is one of the most buzzed-about films! For this year's BAFTAs, both Mark Ruffalo and Steve Carell were nominated for Best Supporting Actor. It's tough to say who deserves the win because they were both so amazing in the film!

All the winners will be announced at the Bafta Film Awards ceremony on February 8! Will you be tuning in? What are your predictions?
