You'll Love These Aspects of "the Maze Runner" ...

Alicia

“The Maze Runner” is one of the latest hit movies for teens and young adults. I took my teenage daughter to see it and we both loved it. “The Maze Runner” is based on a book of the same name by James Dashner. Whether you’ve had a chance to read the book or not, this movie is a must-see.

It’s Dystopian Fiction

Need I say more? Dystopian fiction is when a storyline is set up in very difficult social or political conditions. There are major problems that need to be overcome. “The Maze Runner” is a work of dystopian fiction, falling right in with other popular works such as “The Hunger Games” and “Divergent.” If you were a fan of either or both of these, then chances are good you’ll love “The Maze Runner” too.

Thomas is Very Cute

Let’s just be honest with ourselves. It’s nice when the main character is easy on the eyes, right? Dylan O’Brien makes a cute Thomas with his dark hair and eyes. He’s also got a trim and toned physique that makes him a perfect choice for an athletic Thomas. As well as being cute, he’s also an incredibly talented actor.

The Mystery

“The Maze Runner” will make you think about what’s really going on all throughout the movie. It’s one you try to figure out. What’s even better than that is that there are surprising twists and turns that you won’t see coming. I love a movie like that and figure I’m not alone. I like thinking I’ve got a movie figured out only to find out there was a twist I couldn’t have imagined.

Teresa’s Spunk

Teresa was probably my favorite character in the whole movie. The last one to arrive at the glade, she’s the only girl. She can also hold her own with the company of guys she finds herself in the midst of. There are several humorous moments in the movie that Teresa initiates. You’ll love her spunk as well as her bravery.

It’s Edge of Your Seat Action

There’re no boring moments in “The Maze Runner.” This movie is packed with action that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. You’ll find yourself rooting for Thomas and his buddies as they try to conquer the maze. It really pulled me in and made me feel a part of the movie. If you love that feeling, you’ll love “The Maze Runner.”

It’s a Movie You’ll Want to Watch Again

This movie is already on our list of movies to rent even though we saw it in the theater. It’s definitely good enough to watch more than once. It’s the type of movie where there’s so much action you know you didn’t catch it all the first time. You can still enjoy the thrill of it when you watch it again. There aren’t many movies that can live up to that.

There’s More to Come

There’s more to come in “The Maze Runner” series. The movie ends nicely but it also lets you know that the story isn’t over. There isn’t complete closure. It leaves you feeling excited about the next installment of this series. If you feel like you can’t wait for the next movie, you can always pick up this series of books by James Dashner to read while you wait.

Have you seen “The Maze Runner” yet? What did you love most about it? Let’s talk about it here!
