1. Jim and Pam – “the Office”

As a longtime fan of “The Office”, this is one of my favorite TV and movie proposals of all time. Watching Jim and Pam's relationship develop throughout the years didn't prepare me for the moment when Jim finally gets over his nerves and proposes – for real, this time! I couldn't help but laugh (and scream) at my screen the first time Jim seemed as if he was getting ready to pop the question, only to tell Pam that he just needed to tie his shoelaces!

2. Julia and Robbie – “the Wedding Singer”

As seen in this delectable film featuring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, being proposed to 30,000 feet in the air is a completely swoon-worthy moment! The best part about this engagement is that Robbie enlists the help of Billy Idol to make his intentions clear.

3. Michael and Holly – “the Office”

Michael Scott's hilariously sweet proposal to Holly more than deserves a spot on this list! I can't be the only one who laughed when Holly walks into the Dunder Mifflin office, only to be greeted by each of Michael's co-workers popping the question. Even with the sprinkles going off while the room is filled with candles, Michael and Holly's moment was still sweet!

4. Scarlett and Rhett – “Gone with the Wind”

The silly back-and-forth banter that occurs between these two makes the moment when Rhett proposes all the more promising. Am I the only one who thought that the chemistry between Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh in this scene was extremely believable and electrifying?

5. Monica and Chandler – “Friends”

Ladies, we should all take inspiration from this moment where Monica decides to take the initiative and propose to Chandler in a room lit up with candles. I love that this scene casts aside the traditional expectations of society, showing that there is nothing wrong with a woman proposing to a man.

6. Sarah and Jonathan – “Serendipity”

This was one of the most lovely scenes in the film “Serendipity”. Watching Sarah open up a series of boxes decreasing in size until her boyfriend walks in with the ring gave me such an adrenaline rush. You just may have to bookmark this idea for future reference!

7. Steve and Miranda – “Sex and the City”

Am I the only one who loves how incredibly laid-back this proposal on Sex and the City was? Occurring while they are out having drinks, the fact that Miranda is only half-joking when she asks Steve makes it all the more endearing.

8. Xander and Anya – “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”

This proposal featured one of the greatest dialogues in the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” series. With the imminent threat of danger lurking over their heads, Xander takes a chance by asking Anya to marry him despite not knowing if they would ever be able to extricate themselves from their dire situation. The moment where Anya takes a leap of faith and tells him to ask her once they've escaped will always stay with me.

9. Nathan and Haley – “One Tree Hill”

Most fans of “One Tree Hill” agree that Lucas and Peyton's engagement is one of the most satisfying moments in the history of the show. However, I think that the two proposals that happen between Nathan and Haley are just as enviable! Despite all of the road bumps along the way, I never once stopped rooting for these two lovebirds to persevere!
