The best action movie moments are exciting, dynamic, and suspenseful. Even people who haven't seen the films that contain them know these moments. They become iconic, which is always the mark of a great movie, even if it's just a cult classic. Even if you're not an action fan, you can definitely appreciate the excitement in these classic scenes. If you are a fan of action films, then hopefully you'll also love seeing the best action movie moments again!

1. Saving Private Ryan: Omaha Beach

As you'll see, a lot of the best action movie moments somehow involve fight scenes. I guess you could say this one does too, in a way, but the fight scene occurs on a much larger scale. Saving Private Ryan is one of my favorite war movies, and the opening sequence is just phenomenal. You have to take it all in, from the ride over the choppy sea to the infamous storming of the beach. The cinematography certainly helps; it's so gritty and real, you can feel the adrenaline and the terror.

2. The Matrix: Neo Vs. Agent Smith

I confess, I love the Matrix trilogy. All the same, the first one was the best, at least in my opinion. All three movies are filled with dramatic action sequences and many of them occur between Neo and the marvelous Agent Smith. The scene where Neo truly becomes The One, however, is among the most exciting. Who doesn't love the bullet ballet?

3. Raiders of the Lost Ark: Indy Vs. a Boulder

Indiana Jones is well known for amazing action scenes, but is any moment better than this one? In addition to being fantastic on screen, the scene itself is the stuff of legends, spawning iconic stories that still cause movie fanatics to debate today. Even if you've seen the movie a thousand times, you're still left breathlessly wondering if Indy's going to outrun that damn boulder.

4. The Two Towers: Helm's Deep

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is many things, so if you're shaking your head and muttering at the screen that the flicks don't really fit into the action genre, think again. The Two Towers and The Return of the King are both action packed, but the Battle of Helm's Deep is one of my favorite action moments. The entire fight is absolutely stunning, a high point of the film. Just FYI, Gandalf's charge is my favorite moment within the moment.

5. Children of Men: the Finale

This one might leave you shaking your head as well, but remember that to be exciting or moving, an action moment doesn't necessarily have to contain a huge fight. I think Children of Men is entirely underrated anyway, the uprising and ending are just incredible. Can't you feel the urgency in this clip? The fear, the edge of panic?

6. Bullitt: the Car Chase

There's nothing more action packed than car chases. Lots of action movies have them, but nothing meets the edge-of-your-seat moments in Bullitt. This is the car chase to end all car chases. I get a little motion sick every time I watch it. Who says you need all sorts of special effects and stunt drivers to make an exciting scene?

7. The Hunger Games: a Fire Fight

The Hunger Games is filled with exciting scenes as well. When the Tributes arrive at the games and the bloodbath begins, it's one of the most amazing moments of the film. However, when The Girl on Fire gets caught in a forest fire, that's what really kept me in suspense. Of course, I already knew what happened, but even that didn't quell my nervousness for Katniss.

8. Scarface: Tony's Little Friend

Do I even need to say anything else? Tony Montana's last stand is an iconic scene, not just for its quotable dialogue but because he goes bat-poop crazy with it. I love Al Pacino in this movie, and while the entire film is thrilling, this particular scene is insanely good.

No matter how many times you've seen these films, seeing the best action movie moments again is always exciting. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling like I need to watch all of these again, as soon as possible. What are some of your favorite action scenes?
