7 Newish Awesome Comedies You Need to Watch Now if You Haven't ...

I love to watch awesome comedies over and over again and I never get sick of them. There are many comedies each and every year, but lets be honest, most of them suck. It’s hard to find the ones that are funny and actually worth watching. Here are some awesome comedies you need to go rent right now!

Snapshot Survey

Do you prefer a calm and quiet environment or a bustling and lively one?

1. This is the End

With funny men Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, This Is The End is one of those awesome comedies you have to watch. This has a packed cast including Seth himself, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson. The film is based around a global apocalypse and the aftermath that these characters have to deal with. Best part is, everyone plays themselves in the movie which helps you fall in love with the ‘characters’.

2. We’re the Millers

This movie has a stacked cast such as Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Emma Roberts, and Will Poulter. The plot goes like this… a small marijuana drug dealer David (played by Jason Sudeikis) is robbed of his money and pot stash, which he owes to his supplier. His boss, who is a wealthy drug lord (played by Ed Helms) forces David to smuggle marijuana from Mexico in order to clear his debt. After David realizes he can’t do it alone, he enlists the help of a few friends.

3. Movie 43

This film features sixteen different storylines, each one done by a different director. The film was shot over a period of several years, as casting also proved to be a challenge for the producers. Some actors rejected as it took over 10 years to get into production. The list of celebrities in this movie is way to long to list, check it out for yourself.

4. Grown Ups 2

If you love Adam Sandler, you will love this movie. Produced by the man himself, the film is the sequel to the 2010 film Grown Ups. It features an ensemble cast including Mr.Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Salma Hayek. This time around, the grown ups are the ones learning lessons from their kids on the last day of school. In the beginning, all of the men still consider their kids, are well ‘kids’. However throughout the film they begin to accept that their children are growing up.

5. Anchorman

If you haven’t seen this, shame on you! I personally think Will Farrell did some of his best work with this movie. The film is a tongue-in-cheek take on the culture of the 1970s, particularly the new Action News format. It portrays a San Diego TV station where Ferrell's title character clashes with his new female counterpart.

6. Bridesmaids

If you have ever planned a wedding or been to a bachelorette party, you will somehow relate to this movie. The funny ladies include Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph. Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper, and Wendi McLendon-Coveyco. The plot centers on Annie (Wiig), who suffers a series of misfortunes after being asked to serve as maid of honor for her best friend, Lillian, played by Maya Rudolph.

7. Ted

The crew making you bust out in laughter while watching includes Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis in leading roles. The supporting cast includes Joel McHale and Giovanni Ribisi. The movie revolves around two best friends that have been inseparable since their youth; it just so happens that one is a teddy bear. This is a must watch to see what happens.

Comedies are to each their own as everyone has their own level of ‘funny’. Do you have a comedy movie that you are obsessed with and watch over and over? I know I can’t stop watching Bridesmaids!
