Fruits Basket was my first anime and, of all the anime shows I’ve watched since then, it remains my favorite! Fruits Basket has just the right balance of fantasy, romance, comedy and action. Yamada’s First Time is such a great show simply because the main character is so very awkward! It’s hard not to fall in love with this character after one episode, trust me! Yamada is a girl trying to become a woman, step by step starting with her first kiss. Her journey is wild and, well, awkward! Start watching this series on Netflix today!

Okami-san and Her Seven Companions is another hilarious anime series, available on Netflix. This show will have you laughing so hard that you cry! The main character, Okami-san, is a bit standoffish, but she’s as great a friend as they come! The cast dynamic is the best of the best, and you’ll love the characters so much you won’t want to stop watching!

Anime series aren’t all romcoms; no, there’s a darker side, too. One dark, mysterious anime series teenage girls love is Vampire Knight! I just started watching the show recently, but I’m already hooked! There’s endless intrigue, and a constant sense of danger! Again, the characters on Spice and Wolf make the series phenomenal! Spice and Wolf is a show about a merchant named Kraft Lawrence and Holo, who looks like a 15 year old girl but is actually a 250 year old wolf deity! It’s a fantasy, yes, but more than anything it’s about the relationship between Kraft Lawrence and Holo. Their adventures and friendship make the show really worth watching!
