1. Mean Girls
On iTunes: itunes.apple.com
Of all the side splitting comedies you can’t afford to miss, this one is probably the one I can quote the most. Mean Girl is The Breakfast Club of our generation. Almost everyone has seen, and loves, this movie. I can barely go a day without hearing someone quote Mean Girls. If you have seen it, you know why it is number one on this list. If you haven’t, you might want to check out what you are missing.
2. Bridesmaids
On iTunes: itunes.apple.com
While there are tons of raunchy comedies for men, Bridesmaids takes the raunchy humor to a more feminine place. Kristen Wiig is one of the funniest people to begin with, so you know a video featuring her is going to leave you rolling on the floor laughing. The airplane scene might go down in history as one of the funniest movie scenes ever.

3. Zoolander
On iTunes: itunes.apple.com
Ben Stiller will always be Derek Zoolander in my mind. While this movie might be filled with immature and dumb humor, I still love it. Zoolander is a male model who is trying to make a comeback while fighting off a designer who is brain-washing him into killing the Malaysian Prime Minister. If that crazy plot doesn’t tell you how awesome this movie is, you will just have to watch it to find out.
4. Monty Python & the Holy Grail
On iTunes: itunes.apple.com
If you prefer wittier humor, you will love Monty Python & The Holy Grail. The British comedic geniuses of Monty Python put their heads together to create this incredible hilarious movie. It tells about King Arthur and his strange assortment of knights as they search for the Holy Grail. They meet strange and random characters along the way. This comedy will always be considered a classic in my book.
5. Hot Fuzz
On iTunes: itunes.apple.com
While I love all of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s movies, Hot Fuzz is by far my favorite. Simon Pegg plays an intense and straight laced cop who is forced to move to a small picturesque town in England. Once there, mysterious deaths start to happen and he uncovers a huge conspiracy. Frost is hilarious as a bumbling cop who has no idea what he is doing. It also has a few cameos by famous celebrities like Bill Nighy, Cate Blanchett, and Peter Jackson.

6. Some like It Hot
On iTunes: itunes.apple.com
This one is kind of a throwback. Any movie featuring Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in drag is bound to be a winner. They are on the run from the mob, so they join an all-female traveling band. Marilyn Monroe was definitely underrated for her role in this movie. Sure, people love her for her sex appeal, but I think she was actually hilarious in this movie. And it has an old-school comedy flair to it, unlike the raunchier comedy found in movies nowadays.
7. Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy
On iTunes: itunes.apple.com
When I heard they were making an Anchorman sequel, I was overwhelmed because the first one was so incredibly hilarious. Will Ferrell is a comedic genius and Ron Burgundy might be his finest work. What I think makes this one of the top side splitting comedies is that it mixes raunchy slapstick humor with a more sophisticated humor. It is a good balance between intelligent jokes and the kind of immature humor you would expect.
While dramas, romantic movies, and horror movies are all great, there will always be a special place for comedies in my heart. If you love to laugh, you know the feeling of having a great side splitting comedy. Do you love these side splitting comedies as much as I do? What are some other hilarious comedies that you can’t get enough of? Do you prefer comedies or other movies like dramas and horror movies?
