1. The Fault in Our Stars

After finally jumping on this bandwagon after years of trying to stay away, I can officially vouch for how amazing this book is. From what I’ve seen of the movie, it’s one of the truest book-to-movie adaptations I’ve seen in years, making everyone so excited to see it! If you haven’t read this book yet, I suggest you do before you see the movie, which recently premiered. Luckily, it will only take you a day or two to read, you won’t be able to put it down!

2. The Hunger Games

If you’re one of the few people left on the planet who haven’t read The Hunger Games trilogy, or at least watched one of the movies, I suggest you do, and soon. The first part of the last installment is set to come out at the end of the year, which gives you just enough time to catch up before it’s released!

Frequently asked questions

3. Eat, Pray, Love

So many people told me to skip this book after seeing the movie, because, in their words, “the movie was so much better.” Because of that, I never got around to reading the book, but I will say that I love the movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s definitely a must-see. It’s perfect for the times you’re bored with life, get struck with a case of wanderlust with nowhere to go, or simply want to curl up with a good movie after a long day. If you love traveling, you must add this book-to-movie adaptation to your list immediately.

4. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

I’m almost sure that everyone has seen the first Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie at this point in time. It’s surprisingly true to the book, minus a few key points, and I won’t even mention the second movie that turned into a smorgasbord of the last three books. However, it was recently announced that they’re making a third movie for the fifth installment, and if you haven’t read all five books yet, I suggest you do before this movie comes out. I may have pretty high expectations for it, but it’s going to be amazing.

5. The Notebook

This could technically be about any Nicholas Sparks book ever, because there is rarely a time that his book-to-movie adaptations disappoint. However, The Notebook is by far the most popular of all of his book-to-movie adaptations. Sure, there are some slight changes, like Allie’s last name, and the time lapse between their breakup, but I think we’ve all forgiven them by now, because who doesn’t love that movie?

6. Pride and Prejudice

I fall into a rare category of person who loves a good love story but did not enjoy this book very much. I know, I know. I’m horrible. I did like the movie I saw, and there are so many different adaptations to choose from that it’s almost hard to find one you don’t enjoy!

7. The Spectacular Now

This book is on my list of books to read this summer, but I can’t even emphasize how excited I was for this movie. I waited nearly eight months to finally see this movie. It didn’t live up to my impossibly high expectations, but it was pretty good. From what I’ve heard, the book and movie are massively different, so if you didn’t like one, try the other one out and see what you think!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

The Shawshank Redemption was one of the absolute best book to movie adaptations ever ! I mean there was a few tiny, tiny things either left out of the movie, or slightly altered, but for the most part, it was spot on!! then again, it was only a 100 page short story, so that might have made it a lot easier!

This Is Now, Divergent.

divergent, the mortal instruments??

Well since leilah already mentioned divergent, and you already included hunger games ,it leaves mortal instruments trilogy by Cassandra Clare I think they made a movie of book 1. City of glass ,but I have not seen it yet so I don't know if they messed up or got it right...

I enjoyed "The Book Thief"! They captured a lot of the main events :)

Divergent?
