I’ll admit it; I’m a sucker for gorgeous homes in movies. Who isn’t, though, honestly? Homes in movies are like the gorgeous homes we see on Pinterest. We know we’ll never live in something that well decorated, organized, or even simply beautiful, but hey, at least we can dream. The next time you’re looking for a movie to watch simply for its décor, refer to this list and be amazed.

1. Julia’s Home in Julie and Julia

Julia’s Home in Julie and Julia Julia Child’s home in Julie and Julia is something from our Parisian dreams. It is definitely a dream, actually, because I can’t imagine a world in which I will ever live in a house like that, but that’s what I love about it. Even though I’ll never live in a Parisian home like Julia’s, at least I know that I can turn on my TV and pretend I do! That’s the beauty of homes in movies, in my opinion!

2. Lena’s Home in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Lena’s Home in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants While Lena’s grandparents’ home in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is absolutely gorgeous in all of its Grecian glory, what always strikes me are the views. The views of the caldera, and just the beautiful island of Santorini in general are enough for me to add it to my bucket list!

3. Andrew’s Home in the Proposal

Andrew’s Home in the Proposal Since seeing The Proposal, I have one answer when it comes to being asked if I’d ever like to visit Alaska. I would love to, but only if I stayed in a place like the Paxton’s home in the movie. I’m not even sure that they filmed The Proposal in Alaska, but I think we can all agree that staying in a home like that on a trip to Alaska wouldn’t exactly be a bad deal.

4. Kathleen Kelly’s Apartment in You’ve Got Mail

Kathleen Kelly’s Apartment in You’ve Got Mail I once read an article about a person who felt very strongly about Kathleen Kelly’s brownstone apartment, claiming that it was outdated and overdone. Well, I feel very strongly about it as well, and I can’t help but think that it’s not outdated. If anything, the décor in Kathleen Kelly’s apartment is timeless. It’s packed with neutrals and shabby chic décor; two things that I’m almost sure will never go out of style. Plus, who doesn’t dream of living in an Upper West Side brownstone like Kathleen Kelly’s, regardless of décor?

5. The Griffin’s Home in the Big Wedding

The Griffin’s Home in the Big Wedding This movie received horrible reviews, and I’m still trying to figure out why. Maybe I was too focused on the home to really pay attention to what was happening throughout the actual plot. Regardless, this movie’s home is ridiculously gorgeous. The décor is gorgeous, the views are gorgeous, and the landscaping is gorgeous. Even if you are hesitant about watching this movie after its reviews, watch it simply for the beautiful home that almost acts as another star.

6. The Barry’s Home in Something’s Gotta Give

The Barry’s Home in Something’s Gotta Give I’m sure you’ve noticed that whenever the conversation of gorgeous homes in movies comes up, the iconic home in Something’s Gotta Give always makes its way into the conversation, and with reason. In fact, the first time I watched this movie, I think I did so just to see what the hype was behind this house. Everything about this home is absolutely stunning, from the blue accents, to the beach view, and even to the beautifully lit pool.

7. Jane Adler’s Home in It’s Complicated

Jane Adler’s Home in It’s Complicated Meryl Streep gets all of the beautiful homes, doesn’t she? This is another movie home that always makes its way into conversations of beautiful homes. Just like in Something’s Gotta Give, everything about this home is ridiculously gorgeous and perfect and everywhere in between. There’s nothing about this house that isn’t worth loving.
