If you remember correctly, 2004 was a huge year for movies, and as a result, there are so many movies that are ten years old today. Whether it was The Passion of the Christ, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, or even Mean Girls, movies that changed the course of the movie industry are already a decade old. 1. The Notebook

As I’m sure you’ve seen on social media lately, The Notebook falls under the category of movies that are ten years old this year. It’s hard to believe that everyone’s favorite love story, and the movie that spurred the flood of Nicholas Sparks in recent years, is already ten years old. However, this movie is sort-of timeless with all of its numerous time jumps, which may explain why I’m in denial over the fact that this movie has been out for ten years.

2. Shrek 2

Yes, you read that right. The original Shrek is more than ten years old. Its sequel is already ten years old. Plus, I’m fairly certain that they still make Shrek movies, making this even more unbelievable.

3. The Incredibles

Yes, one of Pixar’s less popular, yet still blockbuster hits is ten years old. In true Pixar form, they’ve waited a decade and are now allegedly working on its sequel.

4. The Passion of the Christ

Not to take a dark turn here, but it’s a little difficult to write about 2004 movies without including The Passion of the Christ, a movie that I’m fairly certain everyone over the age of 14, regardless of religion, has seen today. Despite Mel Gibson’s crazy antics, this movie really changed Hollywood, and it’s hard to believe it’s already been a decade since it did so.

Explore this curated list of fascinating one word movie titles, designed especially for women who value compelling narratives and thought-provoking themes. These titles offer a fresh perspective on femininity and the nuances of womanhood, allowing you to embark on memorable viewing experiences from the comfort of your home.

5. Mean Girls

As I’m sure you’ve seen all over social media lately, Mean Girls recently had its ten year anniversary. Allegedly, a Mean Girls reunion is in the works. However, don’t hold your breath. The news came from Lindsay Lohan, who I’m sure we all agree, is not exactly a reputable source. Even so, we will all wait with bated breath for our favorite girls (Tina Fey and Amy Poehler… and the Plastics, I guess) to reunite!

6. Napoleon Dynamite

I truly cannot believe that the movie that everyone loved to hate in 2004 is already ten years old. I’m very happy to report that quoting of the movie has decreased significantly since 2004. Remember when you couldn’t go a day without hearing, “I see you’re drinking 1%. Is that because you think you’re fat?” Basically, what I’m trying to say is that Napoleon Dynamite is to 2004 what Frozen is to 2014. We will overcome.

7. Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy

Maybe it’s because the sequel recently came out, but I was in shock when I realized that the first Anchorman was already ten years old. The movie that began Will Ferrell’s now-legendary starring roles is already ten years old. He has so many legendary characters - Ricky Bobby, Chazz Michael Michaels, and even Jackie Moon - that it’s easy to forget that this is where it all began!

So many movies are ten years old this year! I know I missed a bunch! Which ones can you think of that I missed? Let me know your favorite movies from 2004 in the comments!
