1. Liberal Arts
Liberal Arts is one of those gems on Netflix that is currently sitting in my queue, waiting for me to have a spare hour or two to sit down and watch it. Personally, from the moment I saw the trailer, I needed to see this movie. It seems like one of the cutest, quiet romantic comedies out there. It seems like the most charming, lovely movie about college and growing up. Starring Josh Radnor of How I Met Your Mother fame, and Elizabeth Olsen of sister of the Olsen twins fame, it seems like a surefire hit.
2. Silver Linings Playbook
Sure, Silver Linings Playbook may have some darker themes and undertones, but that’s not to say that it doesn’t have its funny moments as well. Whether or not you got a chance to see the Oscar winning film when it was in theaters, this movie is one that you will definitely not regret watching on your next movie night.
Frequently asked questions
3. Stuck in Love
Just like Silver Linings Playbook, Stuck in Love definitely has darker themes, but at its root, I really do think it’s a romantic comedy with some family chaos thrown in there. I think many people would agree with me that this is one of the best movies on Netflix, so if you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a must!
4. Under the Tuscan Sun
Okay, so while this isn’t your typical romantic comedy, I do think it still qualifies as a rom com. It’s a movie about falling in love with you before falling in love with someone else, and even falling in love with a new place. At the end of the day, it's a movie that will leave you feeling warm and happy, and isn't that what we're all looking for in a romantic comedy?
5. The Big Wedding
The Big Wedding got horrible reviews, so I was a bit wary when I decided to watch this movie months ago. However, I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. Whether you’re a fan of dysfunctional family movies or are simply looking for a more chaotic romantic comedy, you’ll ultimately find it in this eccentric movie.

6. Maid in Manhattan
For a while there, Jennifer Lopez was in all of the greatest romantic comedies, and this movie is no exception. It’s nearly impossible that you haven’t seen this charming Cinderella story yet, but if you haven’t, it’s a must-watch, at the very least so you can see how adorable Tyler Posey was before found he fame on Teen Wolf.
7. Jerry Maguire
I’m a firm believer that Jerry Maguire is one of the only romantic comedies out there that guys will admit to loving, simply because it integrates sports. If you’re looking for a romantic comedy to watch with your guy, Jerry Maguire is the movie for you! Actually, even if you’re not looking for a movie to watch with your guy, this movie is a great one to watch on a weekend at home!
