7 of the Best Partners on TV ...

There are a lot of different opinions on what makes the best partners on TV. Some people think that partners should be platonic, while others want there to be some sort of romantic interest between partners. Either way there are a lot of partners on TV that I love and I’m sure there are ones that you love too! Let’s take a look at seven of the best partners on TV.

1

Mulder and Scully

Putting aside the obvious tension between the two of them, Mulder and Scully make great partners. What works for them is that Scully is a skeptic and Mulder believes in pretty much all things supernatural, so they balanced each other out. Mulder and Scully were easily one of the best partners on TV. They solved so many cases together over the years and even though they blatantly had feelings for each other, they were able to put them aside and work together.

2

Emily and Nolan

Emily and Nolan from “Revenge” are awesome. They have laid their lives on the line for each other multiple times in the two seasons that it has been on the air. They so obviously care about each other that they’re willing to do almost anything to help each other. Nolan is hilarious, which balances out Emily’s extremely serious personality. They’re both so loyal to each other and I love that there’s no romantic interest between them. Romance always comes into play between TV partners, but not them and I really appreciate that.

3

Bones and Booth

This relationship is much like Mulder and Scully from “The X-Files.” Booth believes in things such as religion and superstition, while Bones doesn’t believe in anything that can’t be proven with science. One big difference is that we didn’t have to wait as long for Bones and Booth to finally get together as we did for Mulder and Scully. Their relationship is really sweet and Booth tries so hard to help show Bones a way of living that she isn’t used to. I’d have to say that they’re not only one of my favorite partners, but one of my favorite couples too.

4

Harvey and Donna

I can’t even tell you how much I love Harvey and Donna from “Suits”! They are truly best friends and you can really tell how much they care about each other. While all of the partners on this list obviously care about each other, there’s something different about these two. Harvey and Donna are more than best friends, but I wouldn’t say that they’re close like siblings. Donna is always one step ahead of Harvey. She’s always able to anticipate his needs and help him with whatever he needs. She also holds all of his secrets and he never doubts her loyalty.

5

Jane and Lisbon

Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon from “The Mentalist” have a sort of complicated relationship. Sometimes it seems that the writers are trying to push a romantic relationship onto Jane and Lisbon and other times there is no sign of it at all. One thing that I love about their partnership is that Lisbon is the only person that Jane trusts with his secrets and feelings. They work really well together as a cop and consultant duo, but they also work together well as friends.

Pete and Myka

Pete and Myka from “Warehouse 13” are the poster children for platonic male/female partners. In all of the seasons of the show, there hasn’t been one hint of there being romantic feelings between the two of them. While Pete can acknowledge that Myka is pretty, that’s about as far as the relationship has gone. Myka is also the straight man in the relationship, while Pete is the hilarious one. They also work really well together to get their job done. Usually there are a few mishaps, but they always work through it and end up happily platonic in the end.

7

Shawn and Gus

Shawn and Gus from “Psych” are one of my favorite duos on TV. They’re both so hilarious that it’s hard to choose who is more entertaining. Shawn is the partner who does most of the work, but when it comes down to it he couldn’t do it without Gus. They’ve been best friends since they were children and that helps differentiate them from the other partners on this list. The history that they have also makes them work better together because they’re aware of how the other works. I love these two!

These TV partners are awesome! I’m sure that there are a few on this list that you’re a fan of, but maybe I’m wrong. Which partners on this list do you like? Who would you have put on your list of best TV partners?
