1. Drop Dead Diva

Starring Brooke Elliott and Margaret Cho, this romantic comedy series is about a model whose soul ends up in the body of a plus-size attorney. I fell in love with this series which is well worth watching just for Stacey, Fred and the gorgeous Jackson Hurst. One of my favorite shows on Amazon Instant Video!

2. Dollhouse

This 2009 series was created by Joss Whedon, of Buffy fame. Starring Elisha Cuthbert, the show received a lot of criticism when it came out, but I find it really fun and entertaining. It follows the story of a futuristic laboratory where residents, or 'dolls' have their memories wiped and are sent to carry out assignments for customers. Pretty entertaining stuff, as long as you don't take it too seriously!

3. Extant

This new sci-fi series starring Halle Berry is one I probably never would have discovered, were it not for Amazon Instant Video. It's available to watch each week in the UK, just hours after it is screened in the US, and follows the story of an astronaut who has just returned from space. Although sci-fi isn't always my thing, this is really worth watching!

4. Vikings

If historical drama floats your boat, check out Vikings. Season one and two are available to stream, and with beautiful scenery, top-notch acting and eye-candy, this is one show that was on my Amazon Instant Video watch list the second I signed up! I'm part way through season one and still enjoying every second of it.

Embrace the power of cinematic storytelling by enjoying films with simple yet captivating names. Explore this curated list of fascinating one word movie titles, designed especially for women who value compelling narratives and thought-provoking themes. These titles offer a fresh perspective on femininity and the nuances of womanhood, allowing you to embark on memorable viewing experiences from the comfort of your home.

5. Dawson's Creek

For anyone who fancies a mid-90's flashback, episodes of Dawson's Creek are available to watch on Amazon Instant Video. Yes, Dawson's cheesy. unrealistic lines (and equally terrible fashion sense) will make you cringe, Pacey is still charming and Joey's weird side-smile is STILL quite annoying, but it's a throwback to your youth, and watching the episodes as an adult is quite insightful!

6. Under the Dome

Stephen King fans have probably already watched this TV show about a mysterious dome that suddenly appears over the town of Chester's Mill. But if you haven't checked it out yet, you should do! It's gory, creep and great to watch - I also recommend the book, which is a bit different to the series.

7. Ripper Street

I was so excited to see this BBC drama (that I loved) up for everyone to watch on Amazon Instant Video! Whilst you could be misled by the title, this TV show isn't actually about Jack the Ripper. Instead, it's a captivating look at a team of police officers at that time - expect plenty of bare-knuckle fights, spectacular sets and costumes and some famous faces. I was really sad that this got cancelled recently, but pleased to see it make an appearance on Amazon!

So there you have it; 7 of my favorite shows you'll find on Amazon Instant Video. If you don't already have a subscription, you can enjoy a month's free trial and start ticking some of these shows off your watchlist already! Of course, we all have different tastes; what are your favorite shows on Amazon Instant Video?

Dollhouse stars Eliza Dushku, (also of Buffy fame) NOT Elisha Cuthbert.
