7 Movies That'll Make You Cry Every Single Time ...

Vanessa Dec 31, 2013

Let’s face it, there are so many movies that’ll make you cry. I, for one, am such a baby when it comes down to movies. I mean, I cry when I’m reading a sad book! Still, I love watching a beautiful love story and hoping for the best. I know there are SO many movies out there so I’m sure your list is a lot different than mine. But, if you’re looking for a good cry, these movies will do the trick. These are some movies that’ll make you cry.

1. A Walk to Remember

Before I watched this movie, my friend warned me about the sad love story. I thought I was prepared. Boy, was I wrong. This movie still managed to make me bawl like a baby. It’s one of those movies that'll make you cry every time because even though you already know the outcome, you can’t help but root for a happy ending. Mandy Moore and Shane West are perfect in the movie. If you need a good cry, I recommend this.

2. The Notebook

Well, there’s no way this movie couldn’t make the list. It’s such a beautiful story. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are so wonderful together. We’ve all wanted them to date (again) in real life, and I think the angels have heard our cries! The two are rumored to be a couple again. Kudos to you, Nicholas Sparks, for writing such a beautiful story.

Frequently asked questions

3. Up

If you think this is a fun and uplifting Pixar movie, you’re wrong! Well, not entirely, but you know. This movie will have you shedding a tear no later than the opening credits. It starts off with this beautiful montage of Carl and his wife, Ellie, as they go from painting their first mailbox to saying goodbye in a hospital room. Their dreams of adventure are sadly never fulfilled. You’ll definitely cry with this movie.

4. The Green Mile

This movie is so powerful. The acting in it is superb! I cried when Del bonded with his mouse Mr. Jingles, and I bawled with every electric chair scene. The thing about this movie is that it gets you so invested in the characters that you can’t help but be affected with whatever happens to them. RIP Michael Clarke Duncan, you are missed in the movie industry!

5. Charlie St.Cloud

Oh my God. This book had me bawling. I don’t know how I prepared myself to watch it come to life in theaters. Zac Efron was amazing in this film. There’s no way you won’t cry when the little brother, Sammy, dies. No, that’s not a spoiler, it’s in the trailer! Watching Charlie grieve for him is so heartbreaking!

6. My Sister’s Keeper

This movie will definitely tug at your heartstrings. It’s such a heartbreakingly beautiful story. The movie has the same director as The Notebook, so be prepared to cry. If you read the book, you already know how sad it is. Sure, there are some slight differences between the book and the movie. It’s still just as heartbreaking.

7. Dear John

No matter how many times I watch this movie, I cry. Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried are incredible in it. Kudos again to Nicholas Sparks. How does he manage to keep writing such beautiful stories?! And why do I keep putting myself through this? We all love a good love story.

There you have it, seven movies that’ll make you cry every single time. There are so many more movies out there, but these are the ones that I’ve watched. Which movies do you suggest that I watch and basically cry my eyes out to?
