The Hunger Games

Everyone knows the name Katniss by now. If you don't know much about her story, except for the fact she volunteers for something, then you need to see the film. It won't disappoint.


The Hunger Games is a YA novel-based movie that has gained immense popularity among teen girls. The story follows Katniss Everdeen, a young girl from District 12 who volunteers to take her sister's place in the Hunger Games, a brutal fight to the death between 24 teenagers. Katniss must use her wits and skills in archery to survive and protect her loved ones. The movie adaptation of The Hunger Games was released in 2012 and received critical acclaim. It won several awards, including the Teen Choice Award for Best Movie and the People's Choice Award for Favorite Movie. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, Liam Hemsworth as Gale, and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch. The Hunger Games was followed by two sequels, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, both of which were also released to critical acclaim. The Hunger Games franchise has become one of the most successful YA movie franchises of all time and has inspired millions of teen girls to read the books and watch the movies.
